Solar panels are designed to resist hail. IEC standard-compatible tests are carried out using ice pellets of between 0.75 and 1.25cm in diameter, impacting the panels at speeds of up to 140kph. So it’s safe to say that the likelihood of solar panels being destroyed by hail is very low.
