Setting up of a Solairedirect factory in Poitou-Charentes

Solairedirect and the Région Poitou-Charentes signed a draft agreement at Poitiers today, paving the way for the creation of a crystalline pho¬tovoltaic solar module factory in the bassin châtelleraudais industrial area. The setting up of this factory, which should become operational at the beginning of 2011, will create 80 direct jobs. The Region is committed to helping in the development and funding of the production facility site, this being part of the thrust of its regional solar power strategy, which aims to create a one billion euro market by 2015, with an installed capacity of 270 MWp.
As for Solairedirect, it is committed to playing its part in developing the green economy in the region by establishing partnerships with public and private sector actors.
The solar power strategy established by the Region provides a unique opportunity for the creation of an industry cluster, the first step in this being the creation of a factory by Solairedirect.
