Generally speaking, nearly all buildings are suitable for the installation of solar arrays. To install the array, there needs to be an area where the array can be fitted on the roof or the façade that faces South, East or West. A South-facing surface with a 30° pitch will offer optimal results. In terms of the light’s solar energy yield, a Southeast or Southwest-facing surface, or a slope with an angle of between 25° and 60° will give results that are nearly as good. However, surfaces that are shaded by trees, neighbouring houses or the chimney (also known as areas of cast shadow) are to be avoided.
