The design of your solar array -------- Photovoltaic electricity -------- Solar electricity -------- Renewable energy -------- Solar energy -------- Greenhouse Gases --------

The Greenhouse Effect is caused by the atmosphere acting as a kind of transparent ‘lid’. This phenomenon prevents the earth from experiencing drastic reductions in temperature during the night-time. Excessive emissions of certain gases such as carbon dioxide and methane are exacerbating this phenomenon, provoking changes in the climate. ‘Greenhouse gases’ refer to the gases that make up the earth’s atmosphere – naturally-present as well as man-made (anthropic) gases – which absorb and then emit infrared radiation. This contributes towards maintaining heat within the earth’s atmosphere. The main greenhouse gases are water vapour, carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4), Nitrous Oxide (NO2) and chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs). Source: www.outilssolaires.com
